Heavy Duty Diesel Shop Supervisor | $35-$44/hr DOE

Location: Tukwila, WA

Our client’s company specializes in providing truck and trailer services, including A/C and heating, diesel service, fleets, preventative maintenance, and transmission repairs. They are currently seeking a Heavy Duty Diesel Shop Lead/Supervisor to join their team. This role offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team and contribute to the efficient operation of the shop.

Diesel Shop Supervisor Job Responsibilities


  • Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the diesel shop, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of diesel mechanics and technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and inspections on diesel engines and related systems to identify issues and determine appropriate repair procedures
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and preventative services on diesel engines, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards
  • Manage inventory and order necessary parts and supplies to support shop operations
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and inventory, utilizing computer applications as needed

Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent, with additional technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics preferred
  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or technician, demonstrating a strong understanding of diesel engines and related systems
  • Proficiency in diesel engine diagnostics, repair techniques, and maintenance procedures
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a similar role would be advantageous
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with team members, customers, and vendors
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering quality work
  • Proficiency in computer applications for record-keeping and communication purposes
  • Clean driving record, with a CDL endorsement being a plus
