[Seafood] Production Manager | $70K-$80K DOE

Location: Tacoma, WA

Our client, a prominent distributor and processor of fresh and frozen seafood, is in search of an experienced and diligent Production Supervisor/Manager. The role is crucial for overseeing all production activities, ensuring the effective and efficient use of facilities and personnel.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising production employees, managing department supervisors, and upholding high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. This position is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in food production management, especially in seafood processing, to lead and enhance production operations.

Seafood Production Supervisor Job Responsibilities


  • Supervise production employees, including planning and assigning work, implementing policies, and recommending improvements.
  • Enforce safety, quality, quantity, and housekeeping standards.
  • Manage activities of department supervisors regarding production volume, cost, quality, and meeting deadlines.
  • Oversee production to ensure alignment with financial, safety, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Plan and establish work schedules and assignments to meet production goals.
  • Adhere to and enforce food safety programs to ensure a healthy and compliant working environment.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment, and inspect for defects or malfunctions.
  • Foster effective employee relations and resolve worker problems or grievances when necessary.
  • Interpret specifications, job orders, company policies, and procedures for workers.
  • Ensure policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
  • Promote efficient use of materials and improvement of methods to eliminate waste.
  • Provide training and demonstrations on equipment operations, work, and safety processes.

Qualifications


  • Minimum of 5 years of production management experience in a food environment.
  • Must be fluent in Spanish.
  • Proven track record of staying within salary range and maintaining consistent employment (no job hoppers).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in food safety regulations and procedures.
