Maintenance Manager / Engineer
Compensation: $90K-$120K DOE

Our client, a leading provider of fresh and frozen seafood and seafood products, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager / Engineer to join their dynamic team. In addition to a competitive salary, our client offers employer paid medical, dental, vision, and 401k benefits.
This vital role involves coordinating, planning, scheduling and occasionally executing projects related to the maintenance, alteration, and repair of equipment and buildings. The successful candidate must be comfortable working around fresh and frozen seafood and shellfish, some of which contain known allergens. As a key member of the HACCP Team, this role entails responsibility for food safety system compliance.
Maintenance Manager Job Responsibilities
- Oversee 1 building maintenance and 1 equipment maintenance staff.
- Manage staff and determine work priorities including scheduling repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
- Create and maintain standard operating policies and procedures.
- Organize, maintain and audit the reporting of service logs to ensure compliance.
- Plan, develop and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs and gain greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Plant Manager.
- Ensure that work areas and equipment are kept in clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Complete work orders and preventative maintenance as needed or assigned.
- Use and operate hand/power tools.
- Perform installation and maintenance of machines/capital equipment including emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment to minimize downtime.
- Communicate current projects to Plant Manager.
- Diagnose and repair problems.
- Perform electrical, plumbing, equipment maintenance, fabrication and diesel mechanic tasks as needed.
- Promote and comply with a safe work environment and uphold company safety policies and procedures.
- Experience with automation machinery including automated fish processors which perform filleting, trimming and skinning is desired.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of facilities, manufacturing or maintenance management experience.
- Familiarity with facility electric, mechanical, HVAC and Refrigeration, plumbing, and capital equipment maintenance, ideally automated fish processors which perform filleting, trimming and skinning.
- Good working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems, and familiarity with their typical components.
- Ability to use hand tools, electric tools and other related machinery safely and effectively.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, supervisors and managers.
- This Senior Maintenance Management role is very hands-on and not just managing people, but also leading projects, at times required to do the work, especially to ensure the facility, production or business does not incur downtime.
- Bilingual in English & Spanish, both written and spoken, is preferred, but not required.
