As a Shop Laborer, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the work area, especially when handling sharp tools and machinery. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure a productive and secure working environment.

Shop Laborer Job Responsibilities


  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the work area to prioritize safety, especially around sharp tools and machinery.
  • Use proper safety gear, such as eye protection and ear plugs, as provided by the company to prevent injuries.
  • Carefully read work orders and seek clarification from supervisors as necessary before starting tasks.
  • Emphasize precise measurement in all tasks to avoid irreversible mistakes, particularly when cutting doors.
  • Handle doors and related products with care, employing protective measures like placing cardboard sheets between items to minimize damage.
  • Maintain quality control by consistently checking and rechecking work to uphold the company’s standards of excellence.

Qualifications


  • Previous shop experience preferred, with lumber experience considered a significant plus.
  • Clean-cut appearance and a friendly demeanor, demonstrating a positive attitude and aptitude for learning.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Commitment to safety and quality, with the ability to use safety gear and follow best practices.
  • Good customer service capabilities, capable of interacting professionally with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
