Railing Installer / Lead Installer

Compensation: $45/hr DOE

Location:   Port Orchard, WA

Our client is a reputable family-owned company specializing in residential and commercial railings. They value high-end finish work and understand that excellent installations create referrals. They are currently seeking a skilled Railing Installer / Lead Installer who takes pride in their work. If you enjoy working with architectural railings/handrails and modern floating stairs, this is a great opportunity for you. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance with the company covering approximately half of the cost, as well as major paid holidays.

Lead Installer Job Responsibilities


  • Install handrails and railing systems (interior/exterior) and modern floating stairs.
  • Read and verify measurements, layout, and site conditions.
  • Use power tools and hand tools for cutting, fitting, and installation.
  • Load, unload, and handle materials, including heavier steel components for stair work.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, General Contractors (GCs), and jobsite contacts.
  • Keep jobsites clean, safe, and organized.
  • For Lead Installers: Supervise a helper/crew, plan daily work, and manage quality on site.

Qualifications


  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Background in finish carpentry or high-end installation work.
  • Comfortable with physical work and lifting heavier materials as needed.
  • Reliable, professional, and safety-minded.
  • Go-getter attitude and pride in craftsmanship.
  • Ideally have a truck/van and a basic starter tool set.

Tools / Vehicle Expectations:

  • Ideally have a truck/van and a basic starter tool set (they like initiative and personal investment in tools).
  • Typical tools: drills/impact, chop saw, grinders, etc.
  • If you’re missing some tools, they can help—not a dealbreaker for the right person.

Schedule & Logistics:

  • Training/coordination as needed; you’ll generally meet at job sites.
  • Occasional material pickup from the shop/manufacturer (rare; they’re working toward having materials delivered to site).

Team Structure:

  • Small team (~5 employees). They’re open to either:
    • A Lead Installer who can run jobs and oversee a helper, or
    • A junior installer/helper with strong attitude and willingness to learn.
