[Building Materials] Outside Sales Representative | $DOE

Location: Tukwila, WA

Our client, a well-established supplier of high-quality building materials including chain link, decking, fence boards, gate hardware, nails/screws, posts, rails, tools, and vinyl, is actively seeking a dynamic Outside Sales Representative.

This role is crucial for the expansion and growth of the railing and decking materials department, a sector with untapped potential and numerous business opportunities. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will play a key role in driving new business while nurturing existing relationships, embodying the company’s commitment to quality and customer service.

Building Materials Outside Sales Job Responsibilities

  • Actively seek out new business opportunities and nurture relationships with existing clients to expand the company’s market presence.
  • Focus on growing the railing and decking materials department by identifying and capitalizing on untapped market opportunities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, understanding client needs and offering solutions that align with the company’s products and services.
  • Adapt to the day-to-day variability of the sales environment, managing multiple tasks and projects with a proactive and dynamic approach.
  • Conduct outreach to potential and existing customers, demonstrating a friendly, customer-focused, and hungry attitude to drive sales.
  • Travel within the territory to meet with clients, present products, and close sales, embodying the company’s commitment to building lasting relationships.


  • 3-5 years of experience in building materials sales, with specific expertise in decking materials.
  • Proven ability to wear multiple hats and adapt to a dynamic sales environment.
  • Strong drive and determination to generate new business and grow existing accounts.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Willingness to travel and engage with customers directly to build and maintain relationships.
  • A strong understanding of the building materials industry and the ability to stay informed about market trends and customer needs.
