Our client is a well-established specialty insurance group with deep expertise in recreational and commercial yacht insurance, serving private yacht owners, charter operators, and commercial marine businesses. Their portfolio also extends to marinas, boatyards, boatbuilders, marine contractors, and personal lines including homeowners, auto, classic car, aircraft, and umbrella coverage. They are currently seeking a dedicated Account Manager to manage and grow a book of recreational yacht and commercial marine insurance accounts from their Sarasota, FL office. This is a key client-facing role that demands strong communication, reliability, and a genuine passion for delivering excellent service. A hybrid Account Manager/Producer arrangement may also be considered for qualified candidates interested in combining account servicing with new business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain recreational yacht and commercial marine insurance accounts on a day-to-day basis.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and internal team members.
- Handle policy renewals, endorsements, documentation, and ongoing client service requests with accuracy and timeliness.
- Communicate clearly and professionally through email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- Ensure organized, detail-oriented account servicing with consistent follow-through.
- Support client retention efforts and consistently deliver a positive customer experience.
- For hybrid candidates: actively develop new business opportunities and grow existing client relationships.
Qualifications
- An active Florida Property & Casualty insurance license is required.
- A Florida 2-20 General Lines Agent license is strongly preferred, particularly for candidates handling commercial marine accounts or pursuing a hybrid account management and production role.
- Candidates holding a 4-40 Customer Representative license may be considered for service-focused responsibilities within the license’s permitted scope.
- Yacht or marine industry experience is highly desirable and considered especially valuable.
- Prior insurance account management or production experience is a significant advantage.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Must be punctual, reliable, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
- Personable and professional, with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Sarasota, FL office.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a notable plus.
- A college degree is not required; relevant experience, a strong work ethic, and communication skills are what matter most.
Compensation
- Base Salary: Approximately $60,000–$70,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Commission: Additional compensation tied to renewal revenue, with target total earnings around $90,000.
- Candidates who bring an established book of business may qualify for a higher compensation package.
