General Manager

Compensation: $55K-$70K DOE

Location:   Chinook, WA

A leading company in the seafood industry is currently seeking a competent and professional General Manager. The company’s products include a wide array of seafood such as Dungeness Crab, Wild Salmon, Razor Clams, White Albacore Tuna, and Black Cod. The compensation package includes employer-paid Medical, Dental, Vision, a 401(k) Retirement Plan, and PTO which includes paid sick, vacation, holiday, and personal time.

The General Manager will play a vital role in supporting our client’s shellfish and fishery operations along the Washington Coast. This position is pivotal in guiding strategic initiatives and managing shellfish operations with a focus on resource management, process improvement, and efficiency optimization. This role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively grow a team and lead the business towards sustainable growth and improvement year after year.

General Manager Job Responsibilities


  • Processing, Transportation, and Logistics Experience.
  • Oversee the three local processing plants in partnership with the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure quality and food safety standards by overseeing and monitoring the implementation of HACCP, SQF, and sustainability programs.
  • Work with finance and HR leaders to manage processing payroll within budgetary limits and develop strategies to decrease overtime and temp labor spending.
  • Collaborate with leadership across the company to ensure regulatory compliance for all processing.
  • Oversee transportation operations between Coastal WA facilities.
  • Supervise the transportation manager and drivers to ensure operational excellence.
  • Responsible for the Coast Transportation P&L, establishing and managing freight rates and labor and operating expenses.
  • Supervise and monitor shipping practices at all facilities, ensuring customer orders are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance including interstate trucking/DOT registration and driver safety.

Qualifications


  • 3+ years of experience supervising seafood or fishing operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to travel 20% of the time or more, as required.
