Landscape Construction Superintendent
Compensation: $80K-$85K DOE
Location: Maltby, WA
Our client, a well-established organization in the field of landscape construction, is seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Superintendent. The Landscape Construction Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager(s) & Foreman, providing additional support to the field crews and managing office/yard operations. This role is primarily production-based, working directly with crews in the field, and will involve mentoring, managing crew paperwork, and maintaining quality standards. The successful candidate will also assist with daily office management tasks, such as timecard approval and shop repairs, and will support the Project Manager(s) & Foreman with any arising issues and needs.
The ideal candidate must have experience in Landscape Construction, particularly in Irrigation Design-Build.
Landscape Superintendent Job Responsibilities
- Managing subcontractors, vendors, and labor, ensuring accuracy and quality of each work activity
- Scheduling and directing all inspections with city officials, government agencies, and private agencies as required
- Documenting and completing all punch list items
- Understanding and implementing contract specifications and drawings
- Understanding and enforcing all safety rules and regulations
- Managing all subcontractor relationships
- Coordinating the development of Daily, Weekly, and Project level work plans and objectives with the Project Manager
- Organizing and directing meetings and coordinating with Owners and Designers
- Ensuring that goals and timelines are set and met within the project’s time frame and budget
- Maintaining relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
- Supervising project foremen, and crews
- Working with municipalities to ensure project meets code and all permits are obtained where needed
- Providing Safety Training and Toolbox talks
- Maintaining and updating accurate redline drawings on-site
- Approving all timecards daily
- Training production crews in landscape installation including hardscapes, retaining walls, planting, low voltage lighting, irrigation construction conventional and two-wire
Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience leading landscape/construction crews
- Experience with Irrigation Design-Build (design and install)
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction practices
- Ability to read plans and specifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills – bilingual Spanish a plus
- Able to work as needed in inclement weather
- Able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
