General Manager Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest satisfaction, food quality, and cleanliness.
- Manage the operations of the Bar & Restaurant, retail space, and the Lodge.
- Create, maintain, and increase a healthy bottom line for the Bar & Restaurant, Cafe, Retail Store, and Lodge.
- Handle financial management and reporting for the restaurant, bar, café, retail store, and lodge.
- Manage human resources, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies.
- Ensure smooth operations and facilities management.
- Focus on providing an exceptional customer experience.
- Manage vendor relationships and inventory.
- Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager and other businesses towards financial goals.
- Schedule and organize staff, including creating weekly schedules and conducting performance appraisals.
- Utilize HRIS system for tracking hours and processing payroll data.
- Develop and fill new positions based on growth and market demands.
- Prepare required paperwork, forms, reports, and schedules.
- Monitor and manage workers’ compensation and unemployment claims.
- Create engaging social media content and manage online presence.
- Plan and execute events, ensuring profitability and attendance.
- Carry out restaurant marketing, advertising, and promotional activities.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and labor requirements.
- Stay updated on technology systems and implement improvements.
- Coordinate with the management team to develop policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Provide responsive, friendly, and courteous service to guests and customers.
- Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
- Create menus, manage inventory, and oversee food and beverage offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of the lodge.
- Establish co-marketing opportunities with other establishments.
- Manage staffing during mandatory annual working days.
Qualifications
- Must have OLCC Permit and Food Handlers certifications.
- Demonstrates professionalism in language and actions.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a General Manager in hospitality, food and beverage, or retail business.
- Proficient in basic math and cash register/POS system operation.
- Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Google Apps.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods.
- Availability to work during peak revenue periods, including weekends and holidays.
- Stamina to work 50 to 60 hours per week.
- Familiarity with the niche business and an identifiable brand.
- Stable employment history with no more than 3 jobs in 10 years.
- Relocation to Pendleton, OR, without relocation fee.
