Industrial Field Service Technician | $30-$40/hr DOE+OT
Location: Portland, OR
Our client, a reputable brick and mortar company specializing in air compressors and airless painting equipment, is actively seeking a skilled Field Service Technician. This role is essential for the maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, primarily focusing on piston and rotary screw air compressors, air dryers, and other air system components.
The successful candidate will be responsible for traveling to customer job sites, diagnosing malfunctions, providing failure analysis, and recommending improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance. This position offers the opportunity to consult with customers on their equipment needs and provide expert technical assistance on start-ups and installations.
Industrial Field Service Technician Job Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot and maintain industrial equipment, focusing on air compressors and airless painting equipment.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, perform failure analysis, and recommend solutions to improve reliability and performance.
- Provide technical assistance for equipment start-ups and installations, including the ability to read and interpret operational manuals, electrical schematics, and parts breakdowns.
- Document service and installation activities accurately through completion of work orders.
- Maintain a service vehicle stocked with the necessary equipment, tools, and parts to ensure efficient servicing.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial equipment service, specifically with compressed air, HVAC, and vacuum systems.
- Strong understanding of compressed air systems and associated components, with proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical diagrams.
- Experience with three-phase electrical and plumbing systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record for travel to customer sites; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
