[Commercial Lighting] Quotations Specialist / Estimator

Compensation: $125K OTE

Location:   Tukwila, WA

Portland, OR

We are seeking an experienced full-time Quotations Specialist/Estimator for one of our client companies specializing in lighting and controls. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the inside sales team, tasked with negotiating and securing projects, and creating detailed and accurate lighting bills of materials. Estimator Job Responsibilities


  • Utilize critical thinking to solve individual and team-based problems
  • Work with outside sales team to provide budget pricing for projects
  • Correspond with manufacturers to get correct pricing for all products on projects
  • Understand all pricing and policies of manufacturer partners
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturer partners
  • Communicate clearly with other departments on assigned projects
  • Meet bid date deadlines, working with sales team to strategize bids
  • Work with project managers to ensure clean project hand off once a project has been won
  • Manage money on projects to ensure maximum profitability
  • Read and understand plans and specifications – including lighting fixture schedules
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all customers and outside sales staff
  • Help technical support and project management teams with substitution requests and submittals
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications


  • 3-5 years of experience in Lighting or Electrical Estimating required
  • 1 year of experience in Construction management preferred
  • Knowledge of Lighting and Lighting Controls
  • Construction Industry background and ability to read and understand plans and specifications
  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with Oasis, Cahill, Excel, Smartsheet and Bluebeam a plus
  • Eager to learn and have a desire to understand how things work
  • Excellent critical thinking, utilizing individual and team-based problem-solving skills
  • Team oriented, self-starter who is motivated to grow with the company
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, interpersonal, and intrapersonal communication skills
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects from multiple accounts
  • Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Punctual, detail oriented and able to work at local office
