CSR / Benefits Advocate

Compensation: $25-$28/hr DOE

Location:   Tacoma, WA

Our client is a reputable company specializing in individual, Medicare, and group benefits lines of insurance. They offer a comprehensive benefits package including employer-paid medical, dental, vision and wellness programs, life and A&D insurance, disability insurance, an employee assistance program (EAP), generous paid time off, and a retirement plan with company matching. They also provide ongoing training and advancement opportunities within their organization.

This position is a key role within the company, functioning much like an in-house coordinator. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, based in Tacoma, WA. The position offers a few flexible time options and comes with free parking.

Benefits Advocate Job Responsibilities


  • Respond to employee questions about coverage, billing, and eligibility—offering clarity, empathy, and follow-through.
  • Process enrollments, terminations, and benefit changes accurately and on time—keeping things smooth during moments of transition.
  • Support groups with the necessary paperwork to set up or continue their benefit plans, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers to troubleshoot and resolve real-world issues impacting employees and their families.
  • Keep Salesforce and internal systems updated with clean, accurate records so everyone has what they need when they need it.
  • Help complete compliance forms and documentation to support ongoing plan administration.

Qualifications


  • 1–2 years in employee benefits, insurance, healthcare, or HR.
  • Life and Health License (or willingness to obtain one within 60 days—we’ll help).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook).
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak season (October to February).
