Estimator – Business Development
Compensation: $120K-$240K OTE
Location: Seattle, WA
Our client is an expanding fire protection contractor based in the Greater Seattle area. They specialize in fire sprinkler systems and are branching into fire alarm services. They offer an excellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401k. They are currently seeking a diligent and knowledgeable Business Development & Estimating professional to join their team. This role is pivotal in expanding their client base and revenue stream across both service lines.
This role combines new business development and project estimating. The ideal candidate will have experience in both fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems, providing a versatile skillset that fits seamlessly with the company’s growth strategy.
Estimator Job Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with general contractors and electrical contractors not currently in the network.
- Perform plan take-offs and prepare detailed cost estimates using the internal estimating processes.
- Coordinate internal bid reviews and finalize proposals for submission.
- Submit bids to clients and actively follow up to move opportunities forward.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors through regular check-ins, in-person meetings, and client entertainment (dinners, sporting events, etc.—company-sponsored).
- Actively represent the company in the Greater Seattle market as a trusted fire protection resource.
Qualifications
- Proven background in fire sprinkler systems; fire alarm experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and the estimating process.
- Excellent communication skills and a natural relationship builder.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple bids at various stages.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Greater Seattle area.
