As a Mechanical Crew Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a small mechanical team responsible for the installation of solar racking systems. This position requires a strong background in roofing and building construction, along with the ability to lead, train, and mentor other mechanical installers.
Racking Lead Job Responsibilities
- Effectively install safety equipment and implement site-specific safety plans
- Install mounting systems, rails, brackets, and supports for panels according to manufacturer and code requirements for flat roofs, pitched roofs, and ground installations
- Secure mounting systems using fasteners to attach to the roof structural members
Qualifications
- Ability to take the leading role on a crew and supervise employees
- Demonstrated foreman skills including task delegation, training, and planning
- Experience working with various building and roofing materials such as composite, tile, metal, and TPO
- Familiarity with waterproofing and weather sealing methods
- Knowledge of ground work and excavation processes
