Our client’s company, a leading processor and distributor of an extensive range of high-quality seafood including halibut, salmon, shrimp, alongside a variety of meats such as beef, chicken, and pork, is currently seeking a skilled Warehouse Manager to oversee their operations.
This role involves general supervision, planning, organizing, and managing the daily workflow of activities in the Warehouse, including storage, inventory management, palletizing, and distribution of perishable foods and supplies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the company’s efforts to ensure the efficient and safe handling of all products, making significant contributions to the operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Seafood Warehouse Manager Job Responsibilities
- Prioritize, assign, and lead the work related to Production oversight, inventory management, production forecasting, and loading of trucks.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on policies, procedures, work methods, and safety practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse, freezer, and docks.
- Act as the safety representative for warehouse functions, maintaining compliance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), OSHA, and HACCP standards.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, or electric carts as needed.
- Develop operations and maintenance policies and procedures.
- Investigate accidents/incidents to gather information for documentation.
- Oversee order fulfillment processes, including batch and manual processing and the loading of vehicles.
- Handle employee discipline as required.
- Manage vendor relationships effectively, particularly in the seafood, meats, or produce sectors.
Qualifications
- Experience in warehouse management, ideally within the seafood, meats, or produce sectors.
- Proven track record in inventory management and working with a production team.
- Proficiency in managing inbound and outbound logistics, production forecasting, overseeing work orders, and project management.
- Experience coordinating and overseeing drivers and truck maintenance.
- Knowledge of freezer inventory management.
- Familiarity with HACCP and OSHA safety standards.
