[Seafood] Operations / Logistics Manager | $85K-$110K DOE
Join a recognized player in the seafood industry known for its commitment to quality and efficiency in the import, export, processing, and distribution of fresh and frozen seafood. Our client is in search of a dedicated Operations/Logistics Manager.
This role is integral to ensuring that the logistics, warehouse, and transportation functions run seamlessly to meet client demands and uphold the company’s reputation for timely and quality service.
Operations / Logistics Manager Job Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage all logistics, warehouse, and transportation functions to ensure smooth operations.
- Supervise, train, and motivate team members, fostering a productive work environment and ensuring quality and on-time service delivery to clients.
- Oversee International Inbound and Domestic Outbound Air freight shipments, ensuring accurate and complete pack outs, and prioritizing orders to meet flight schedules.
- Align warehouse priorities with sales and client deadlines to ensure timely fulfillment and delivery.
- Ensure pick accuracy, compliance with perishable and wholesale food importing regulations, and adeptness in air & freight negotiations.
- Foster a collaborative culture where all team members, including senior leadership, are willing to contribute to operational tasks as needed.
- Oversee a team comprising 3 supervisors, warehouse drivers, and a Logistics Analyst, ensuring effective coordination and scheduling of logistics operations.
- Adhere to a rotating schedule for overseeing weekend production, ensuring continuity and efficiency in operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics supervision, management, or coordination.
- Experience managing incoming products from vendors, transportation, warehousing, loading/packing, and delivery of products.
- Familiarity with shipping and food transportation compliance.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is ideal but not required.
- Availability to work in-office with typical hours from 4:30am to 3pm, and willingness to be on call on the 6th day to ensure smooth operations.
- Previous experience in the seafood, meats, or produce industry is ideal but not required.
