Electrician Job Responsibilities
- Plan and install new or modified electrical systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA 70 and local electrical codes
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints for wiring and equipment locations
- Measure, cut, bend, and install electrical conduit; pull wiring through conduit
- Splice and connect wires to fixtures and power equipment
- Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels
- Test continuity of circuits and make necessary adjustments or replacements
- Observe installed equipment to detect hazards and make necessary adjustments
Qualifications
- One-year certificate from a college or technical school preferred
- Four years of related experience and two years of technical craft training, or an equivalent combination
- Knowledge of Basic Algebra and Geometry
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC and software is a plus
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License
- Physically able to stand, walk, and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally; specific vision abilities required
- Adherence to safety procedures and proper use of safety gear
