Commercial Insurance Producer
Compensation: $60K-$80K DOE
Location: Mesa, AZ
Our client, a well-established independent insurance brokerage specializing in commercial, personal, and group benefits lines, is looking for a driven Commercial Insurance Producer to join their team. This role focuses on developing new business in the small to mid-market segment, where successful candidates will bring their existing book of business and a strong background in independent insurance production. Candidates must have prior experience in an independent agency setting—no captives, carriers, or direct writers will be considered.
This is an ideal opportunity for a producer with an entrepreneurial spirit, someone who enjoys prospecting and growing a book of business in the highly transactional small and mid-market commercial space. The role is based in Mesa, AZ, and the client is open to a hybrid arrangement based on performance and culture fit.
Commercial Insurance Producer Job Responsibilities
- Prospect and develop new business in the small to mid-market commercial segment.
- Manage and grow a book of business with a minimum of $350,000 in revenue.
- Ensure that deals are structured and described by revenue, not premium.
- Conduct transactions that generate at least $10,000 in revenue per deal.
- Cultivate strong client relationships, attend client meetings, and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
- Meet or exceed revenue and retention goals by leveraging independent broker expertise.
- Foster a “hunter” mentality—actively seek new business opportunities in the commercial insurance space.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial insurance production in an independent agency setting.
- Proven track record of managing a book of business with at least $350,000 in revenue (not premium).
- Experience in small and mid-market business, with a focus on transactional, revenue-driven deals.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and markets.
- Must be local to the Mesa, AZ area, with the potential for hybrid work based on habits and culture fit.
- Independent broker experience only—no candidates from carriers, captives, or direct writers will be considered.
- No job hoppers; stable work history is required.
