Accounting Associate
Compensation: $22-$25/hr DOE
Location: Tukwila, WA
Our client’s company specializes in providing lighting solutions, controls, and related services to their customers. Currently, they are seeking a dedicated Accounting Associate to join their team.
As an Accounting Associate, you will play a crucial role in compiling and sorting documents, verifying transactions, updating accounts, and assisting with various financial tasks.
Accounting Associate Job Responsibilities
- Compile and sort documents such as invoices and checks to substantiate business transactions
- Verify and post details of transactions, including funds received and disbursed
- Audit invoices against purchase orders, research discrepancies, and approve payments
- Investigate payment issues raised by vendors or purchasing agents
- Prepare and review vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, and reports for accuracy
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, extract information, and compile financial reports
- Identify and resolve report discrepancies, code data for input into financial systems
- Assist employees, vendors, clients, or customers with questions related to accounts and services
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or at least two years of equivalent work experience
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English with basic math knowledge
- Strong skills in calculating numbers and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong time-management and judgment abilities
- Capable of following directions with minimal supervision
- Ability to understand standard industry-specific terminology and comprehend communications
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic PC skills
- Ability to sit for up to two hours continuously, lift up to 50 lbs., and maintain focus on a computer screen for extended periods
