Outside Sales Engineer

Compensation: $80K-$100K DOE

Location:   Hillsboro, OR

Our client is a well-established manufacturers’ representative firm specializing in heat exchangers, vacuum systems, and related parts. With a strong reputation and a history of success in the Pacific Northwest, this small but highly regarded company offers a collaborative and supportive work environment where employees are valued for their contributions.

They are seeking an Outside Sales Engineer to manage and grow customer relationships in a territory spanning from Olympia to north of Seattle. This role will focus on selling top-tier products, including brands like Aquatech, ProFlo, Delta T, and VANEC, to a mix of medical (hospital and healthcare) and industrial (refineries and manufacturing) clients.

Outside Sales Engineer Job Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are met with high-quality solutions.
  • Manage the sales process for heat exchangers, vacuum systems, and related equipment, focusing on both medical and industrial markets.
  • Identify customer challenges and provide technical solutions using the company’s product lines.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and stay informed on industry trends.
  • Work independently to grow sales within the assigned territory, visiting customer sites regularly.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to provide excellent service and support.
  • Demonstrate integrity, initiative, and problem-solving skills to drive long-term customer satisfaction.

Qualifications


  • Engineering background (Mechanical Engineering preferred) with sales experience or strong sales aptitude.
  • Experience selling or working with compressors, vacuum systems, heat exchangers, and cooling towers.
  • Familiarity with customers in hospitals, healthcare, and industrial markets.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • High integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Resides within the assigned sales territory.

This position offers a base salary of $80K–$100K, with additional commission and bonus potential. Benefits include medical coverage and a company vehicle.
