Distribution / Contractor Outside Sales Representative
Compensation: $100K+ OTE

With recent growth and a move into a state-of-the-art facility, they are looking to add a Distribution/Contractor Outside Sales Representative to their team.
This role focuses on driving sales growth within the Seattle Distribution Channel, developing relationships with distributors and contractors, and ensuring successful product placement in stock and on projects. The ideal candidate is a strategic sales professional with a deep understanding of industry trends, new technologies, and electrical codes, as well as strong customer service and collaboration skills.
Contractor Outside Sales Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with distribution and contractor customers.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager to drive sales growth and market expansion.
- Promote manufacturer loyalty and ensure customers have access to top-quality products.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new lighting technologies, and electrical codes.
- Work with distributors and contractors to place products in stock and secure project sales.
- Provide exceptional service and technical support, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including technical support, quotes, controls, and project management.
- Travel 10-30% of the time to attend factory training sessions, often with customers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of proven sales experience, preferably in lighting, electrical, or related industries.
- Ability to understand industry-specific terminology and read communications from vendors, manufacturers, and customers.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Existing book of business and industry connections strongly preferred (higher earning potential for candidates with a strong network).
