[Construction Services] Account Manager / Estimator | $80K-$90K DOE
Location: Tacoma, WA
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Account Manager/Estimator to join their team.
This hybrid position is customer-focused and will be responsible for identifying and generating sales leads, presenting various services and products to customers, preparing estimates for public and private bids, and developing and maintaining new and existing customer relationships, equipment sales and rental offerings, and other services.
Account Manager / Estimator Job Responsibilities
- Achieve/exceed annual assigned sales goals for traffic control services, equipment rental and sales opportunities, and other services.
- Manage and lead all public and private bidding/estimating activities based on a wide range of project delivery methods. Estimate, price, research, and quote RFPs to obtain new business.
- Conduct hunter-focused business development activities through face-to-face meetings, networking, attending various events, email, and cold calling outreach initiatives of new and existing accounts yielding increased revenue opportunities.
- Consult with customers, vendors, and internal individuals to understand customer equipment and solutions needs and present customized options to meet their needs.
- Review and analyze all bid documents, forms, specifications, and determine scope and schedule. Prepare bid documents and submit the final proposal to general contractors.
- Act as the lead in all bid correspondence with general contractors, including pre-bid meetings through pre-con meetings, to ensure a smooth transition to the Project Management and Operations team for project implementation.
- Ensure successful follow-through of sales cycle activities by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification information in their CRM system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, ideally in Construction Management, and/or 5-7 years of Construction or Traffic Control experience.
- Availability to work and travel within the assigned territory up to 50% of the time.
- Demonstrable track record of successful selling in B2B and government procurement agency environments.
- At least 5-7 years of proven business development and sales experience in the construction industry, ideally with a background in traffic control equipment and services.
- Experience interacting with stakeholders in organizations with different functional roles and responsibilities, such as Project Manager, Estimator, and Owner.
- The ability to build and develop personal relationships with customers, the confidence to talk with potential new customers as well as existing customers.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
- Fundamental knowledge of bidding, costing, cost analysis, and margins.
