[Seafood Products] Operations Manager
Compensation: $85K-$110K DOE
Location: Seattle, WA
Operations Manager ($90K – $120K DOE) Base Salary + Benefits
Our clients is a local PNW Fisheries of Salmon and PNW Shellfish. They have their own boats, maintaining a great reputation product (high quality standards) and being a great place to work, having extremely low turnover with their employees.
This particular company is looking for someone to oversee operations, including boat operations, prep their boats in the morning, monitor catch amounts, and direct dock operations including everything from recording catch tickets & arranging transportation of catch to clients, processors & cold storage.
This is an on-site role, 5-6am till about 2:30 to 3 for most of the year. There is a busy season which will be 3 months of longer hours. They have an attractive company culture, work hard, play hard, and pay well.

Job Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with Tribal Fishers.
- Oversee all activities on the dock related to fish quality, proper practices, safety and security and adherence to company policies.
- Manage all dock operations and dock staff including ice house management, offloading of fish, distinguishing and grading fish & data collection
- Data Entry using MS Excel, Quickbooks and regular reporting
- Boom & forklift operations, tender management & facility maintenance
- Determine staffing needs, assist with improving operational systems and processes
- Using MS Excel provide real-time data containing total catch counts and weights obtained from raw data from all dock landings or Tender(s) as required for offload scheduling and production planning.
- Participate in pre-season planning meetings to establish production goals, resource allocation and maintenance of equipment.
- Oversee a staff of 3, identify training needs, develop staff skills and perform performance reviews.
- Must be availability to work evenings and weekends during the Seasonal busy period – servicing 60+ skiffs & 25 gill netters.
Qualifications
- Experience Commercial Fishing (understand dock talk, dock operations, importance of packing ice, boat prep & catch reporting, etc)
- MS Excel & Quickbooks
- People Management & soft skills, has demeanor to create long lasting relationships with Tribal Fishermen & work with the Tribal Council / Officials
- Must be knowledgeable about all 5 species of Salmon, ideally with Commercial Fishing, Seafood Production, Manufacturing or Processing experience
- Inventory Management, planning and forecasting experience
- Strong data entry and Math skills
- 5+ years leadership, management or supervisory experience
- Experience working in teams, implementing key initiatives
Compensation a competitive Base Salary between $90K – $120K DOE as well as an employer paid Medical, Dental, Vision & 401k Benefits Package which includes a Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick and Holiday) package.
