Lumber Distribution Operations Manager
Compensation: $80K-$90K DOE
Location: Tacoma, WA
Our client’s company, a building materials distributor, is seeking a dedicated Operations Manager to oversee the operations function for the distribution warehouse. This key role involves managing warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency in receiving, inspecting, picking, packing, and shipping products.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in improving performance and maintaining high standards within the warehouse environment. This position offers a competitive salary range of $80K – $90K annually DOE.
Lumber Operations Manager Job Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all operations within the distribution warehouse
- Work closely with the branch management team to ensure accurate and efficient shipping, receiving, and material processing
- Maintain and document safety programs, company policies, and procedures
- Recruit, train, and evaluate operations personnel
- Collaborate with the management team to maintain an accurate and well-organized inventory
- Plan and implement storage layout of inventory
- Develop a comprehensive succession plan for operations personnel
- Contribute to the development of the annual business plan
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and adapt to changes during employment
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience managing and supervising in an industrial distribution environment
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing individuals and teams
- Ability to provide innovative solutions and make strategic decisions
- Collaborative, detail-oriented leader with a focus on quality work
- Competitive drive to achieve high-quality, organized results
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing conditions
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) Abilities:
- Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 75 pounds
- Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally
- Comfortable sitting, walking, or moving around for extended periods
