[Building Materials] General Manager

Compensation: $200K-$350K OTE

Location:   Woodinville, WA

Our client, a leading provider of lumber and building material products, is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead their Eastside Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing their wholesale operation, which caters to multi-family, commercial, and residential construction builders, developers, and contractors. This crucial role oversees multiple local and remote sales operations, with the potential to significantly impact the company’s growth and success.

General Manager Job Responsibilities


  • Drive the growth of branch sales from $80m to $160m over a 5-year period
  • Enhance the Main Office’s gross profit margins
  • Recruit, retain, and manage a high-performing team
  • Effectively manage the sales force, buying team, logistics operators, and sales administrators
  • Partner with Accurate Remanufacturing to prioritize internal lumber as the key customer for their remanufactured products and services
  • Integrate subsidiary business units into branch operations

Qualifications


  • 15+ years of management experience with sales and operations staff
  • Proven track record of leading teams that exceeded financial targets
  • Experience in the purchase of commodity lumber for multi-family customer applications
  • 10+ years of selling experience to general contractors in the multi-family, commercial, and residential construction industries
  • Strong data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A growth mindset with a ‘grinder’ orientation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and web-based software
  • 4-year college degree

The role offers a base salary ranging from $175,000 to $250,000 depending on experience and qualifications, with bonuses based on performance. Additional benefits include health insurance, a 401(k) employer match, paid time off, and a cell phone stipend.
