Benefits Account Manager

Compensation: $60K-$70K DOE

Location:   Tacoma, WA

Our client, a reputable provider of individual and group benefit lines of insurance, is seeking a diligent, service-oriented Benefits Account Manager. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in renewing accounts for new and existing small to mid-market, fully funded business accounts.

Benefits Account Manager Job Responsibilities


  • Manage communication between carrier and client after the sale/renewal process is complete.
  • Process enrollment paperwork and carrier contracts.
  • Answer customer service questions.
  • Analyze data, question inaccuracies, and demonstrate an understanding of all business aspects.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Contribute to and flourish in a team environment.
  • Handle a medium to large volume of accounts.
  • Assist with adding new HR personnel to carrier online portals.
  • Help process enrollments, terminations, and changes for select clients.
  • Answer general questions that come in daily including coordination of benefits, covered benefits, eligibility, merger & acquisitions, compliance, etc.
  • Help complete compliance forms and notifications.
  • Assist clients with bill discrepancies and bill audits.

Qualifications


  • Stability in previous roles (frequent job changes is a red flag).
  • Valid WA Health & Disability License.
  • Experience in a client-facing role.
  • Experience with open enrollments (AFLAC, Colonial Life, or a benefits specialist – open enrollment specialist would be ideal).
  • Data entry experience into Benefits Navigator / Benefits Administration programs.
  • Willingness to work 100% in the office.
  • Experience in an Account Management role or readiness to be promoted to an account management role is preferred.
