Director of Training & Market Expansion

Compensation: $90K-$150K OTE

Location:   Tukwila. WA

Our client, a leader in commercial equipment, supplies, and facilities, provides top-quality products and delivers solution-based customer service. Known for their commitment to their employees and superior product offerings, they have seen consistent, double-digit growth over the past three years. With an impressive upward trajectory and expansion into new markets, they are seeking a Director of Training and Market Expansion to spearhead training initiatives and drive market growth.

In this high-impact role, you’ll take on the training and development responsibilities previously managed by the sales director. Start by collaborating with leadership to design and implement a product-specific training program tailored to the company’s proven sales methodologies. You’ll then travel to established markets (Seattle, Portland, and Denver) for about a week each month, training and coaching Business Development Representatives (BDRs) on sales strategies and techniques. By Q2, your role will expand to new target markets, where you will build and lead new sales teams. This position includes extensive travel, with up to three weeks at a time (home on weekends) in these new markets.

Director of Training Job Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program to enhance BDR skills and effectiveness
  • Coach BDRs on prospecting, market penetration, and key sales strategies, focusing on consultative and transactional sales
  • Identify and recruit new sales talent for targeted market expansions
  • Drive team motivation and provide guidance on record-keeping, contract management, and closing strategies
  • Emphasize service-based sales approaches, maintaining a high closing ratio and client satisfaction
  • Travel regularly to both established and new markets, providing on-the-ground support for BDRs
  • Report to leadership on team progress and market expansion performance metrics

Qualifications


  • Established record of sales success in commercial supplies, business services, or similar industries
  • Proven sales management experience, including direct oversight of team members
  • Experience in new market development and expansion strategies
  • Strong motivation, self-direction, and professional autonomy
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19
